Fools... It was only a matter of time.

Description

After I did this doodle, it inspired me to write something for it :3

Here is my story, but feel free to come to your own reasons as to why Starscream is in a straight-jacket. Share them with me too!

The Story
He was empty and he would be alone if it weren’t for the voices around him reminding him of his claustrophobic environment. The room was far from small, but it was grey and furnished with a single chair that he chose not to sit on, what was making his chest tighter and his breathing more rapid were the restraints that where binding his arms to his torso. He clenched his fists, feeling them ball up at his sides as his forearms tensed in a tight hug around his chest, to ease his strain he channelled his energy to gritting his denta together, waiting for his fists to loosen and allow the air back into his body.
A single sigh escaped, it was like a release of energy as his back hit the wall, crunching his wings uncomfortably in their brackets. His knees were feeling the strain of his unbalanced body and were urging him to give in to his weariness, but he refused. They would come back soon, once they had finished gloating about their capture of an innocent. That’s what he was; innocent. However it was their assumption that his desire to be something greater than he already was is a crime against everything that stood for sanity.
Load of scrap…
Of course he had been the root cause of a few deaths and had taken pride in his work, but what he did was meaningful, maybe even an honour. But they just wanted him to be cooped up in an office or a lab or… Or a padded cell.
No.
He wouldn’t let them take him that far without a fight.
The door swung open, first two orderlies dressed in their pristine white coats charged at him, they were followed closely by a casual looking drone holding a syringe at helm-height.
“No!” Starscream hissed, thrashing his shoulders from side-to-side, feeling the heat build-up within his cocoon.
“Easy now, we ain’t gonna hurt ‘ya.”
A white-coated mech placed his clumsy hand over Starscream’s mouth, he tried to bite and spit but his jaw was firmly clenched between the orderly’s digits. The second orderly unclasped one of Starscream’s arms and started to loosen the white rags from him. Despite Starscream being willing to give his wings up to get out of this suit, he wasn’t prepared for what they were about to do, so he fought to tangle his arm back into its sleeve.
“No no, behave now,” the second orderly spoke as he clasped Starscream’s hand in the sleeve of his straight jacket, feeding it out into the open.
Starscream mumbled helplessly, attempting to squirm himself free of his two captors.
“Starscream,” the drone with the syringe spoke, immediately grabbing Starscream’s attention as he stopped his struggle and looked into the mechs blank faceplate, the visor was down and all Starscream could see was a thin line where the drones mouth was. “Starscream, we have done this before, remember? You’ll be back with us in no time,” the thin line turned into a small smile as the drone approached.
Starscream was immobilised, lost in his thoughts from the familiar voice, but how could he be familiar, Starscream had only just been captured… Moments ago he had been sitting aboard a shuttle, his servos drenched in energon, everyone stepping aside to give their leader his rightful passage. Starscream remembers each step, their screams and gasps as they saw him approach, wondering if they would be his next play thing…
The needle embedded itself and Starscream came to, “Ouch,” he yelped, realising his mouth had been freed.
“There we go,” the drone eased as he removed the needle and placed it in a free pocket.
Starscream’s optics felt heavy almost immediately.
“What have you done?” Starscream’s voice was hoarse with exhaustion.
“Just something to help you relax,” the drones smile had gone as he turned to address the orderly, “take him back to his room, keep it locked this time.”
The orderly holding Starscream nodded and cradled the grey mech in his arms as though he were a small child.
“Fools,” Starscream whispered as his optics switched off, his helm feeling heavy and fuzzy from whatever drug had just been injected, “it was only a matter of time…” Starscream trailed off as the drone and the orderlies thought nothing of what the criminally insane mech had meant.
Starscream was falling back into his blissful state of being unaware of the world, but as always, before he gets lost in his maze of jumbled hallucinations, he remembers who he is and who he was.
The truth was free of the fog that his mind had used as a method of forgetting his own presence, and in that moment he regrets letting go of his control and prays for the opportunity when responsibility will be his again.
Then the moment is gone and he is trapped in a processor seeing only what he wants to see, blinded by his pride and destroyed by his failures.
Blissful ignorance of the drug induced variety, the type of ignorance reserved only for those who destroy the lives of others.
